Implementation of Visitor.Express at Oxford University Hospital

Oxford University Hospital Trust (OUHT) has successfully rolled out Visitor Express to manage the parking at the John Radcliffe Hospital using the Click2Park parking module to fully automate parking allocations and employee revenue collections.

Oxford University Hospitals Trust (OUHT) approached NetFM to find a solution to employee parking issues across four hospital sites. With just 3100 spaces for over 12,000 employees, car parks were always full. Double-parking, illegal parking on verges, unpermitted vehicles and frustrated employees using patient car parks were a daily problem, fuelling low workforce morale, a disgruntled public and adverse PR in local media.

OUHT’s legacy parking system used obsolete Access 97 database technology, evolving over several years to contain incomplete and corrupted data. With no third party system integration possible, the system was manually maintained by administrators who struggled to keep track of permits, appeals and employee applicants — leading to wasted man hours, minimal productivity and massive loss of parking permit revenue.
